BPIA car seat guide updated

The Baby Products Industry Association’s (BPIA) free comprehensive child car seat guide – Child Car Seats – ending the confusion – has been updated and is available to download from the BPIA’s website HERE.

First published in October 2021, several areas of legislation have changed since this date and the new booklet reflects the current laws and regulations giving both retailers and consumers a comprehensive guide when selling or purchasing a suitable car seat, in particular the end of sales of R44 car seats in EU and NI from 1st September 2024 (see page 33).

Hard copies of the new booklet will be available from the BPIA (Stand Q12) at Harrogate International Nursery Fair in October. Retailers are also able to request copies of the brochure for distribution in-store.

Julie Milne, general manager of the BPIA, explains: “We cannot reiterate enough the importance of purchasing car seats from knowledgeable and reputable retailers, who will advise which car seat best fits your make and model of vehicle; and also demonstrate installation to ensure that it is correctly fitted. This guide will help both retailers and consumers to understand the new regulation and make informed purchases based on fact”.
