Apply now for TAP funding!

The Baby Products Association (BPA), which is the Accredited Trade Organisation (ATO) for the UKTi Trade Access Programme (TAP) advises that the deadline to apply for funding to exhibit at Kind und Jugend this year is fast approaching and the cut off for applications is 25th May 2012.

Previously, TAP funding was available for individual companies to contribute towards the cost of exhibiting at international trade shows and whilst this provision is still in place, it is significantly reduced. Initially the nursery sector was allocated just 11 individual TAP funding grants of £1000 for 2012, but the BPA has already successfully lobbied UKTI to negotiate a further nine grants bringing the total to 20. We will endeavour to secure more grants for the industry in the next few months. Also changed for this year is that all grants must be match-funded by the recipient, therefore in order to get the £1000 grant they must show a minimum outlay of £2000. The BPA will be allocating these in accordance with set criteria in line with agreed guidelines from UKTi.

Whilst all companies wishing to exhibit at Kind und Jugend are eligible to apply for funding, priority will be given to SMEs which have not previously received TAP funding, followed by those companies which have only received one grant in the past. Exhibitor terms and conditions and an eligibility flow chart can be downloaded HERE and click HERE for an application form. Completed and signed applications forms should be scanned and emailed to Adrian Sneyd at: adrian@nurseryfair.com or posted to: The Baby Products Association, Alpha House, 9 Tipton Street, Sedgley, Dudley, DY3 1HE.

Whilst there are fewer individual grants, UKTi has provided the BPA with an Enhanced Activity budget which will be used to benefit all British exhibitors at Kind und Jugend and in particular those companies participating in the UK Pavilion. This will have enhanced branding to ensure that it really stands out and promises to attract even more international buyers than ever before.

Last year, over 40 companies joined the UK Pavilion and with many of those re-booking for 2012 space is filling up fast. For more information about how to participate, contact Adrian Sneyd on 01902 880906 or email: adrian@nurseryfair.com – alternatively, an information pack and booking form can be downloaded HERE.
