More about the BPA...Four inspiring entrepreneurs have made it through to the final stage of judging in the Baby Products Association’s 2016 Concept & Innovation Awards.
Having reached the shortlist from hundreds of entries, eight entrants were invited to present their new product ideas to a panel of expert judges in London in early February. However, whilst all of these were considered outstanding in terms of design and innovation, there were four individual entries which stood out from the rest.
The two Concept Awards finalists are Mo Dedat with Babythrone – an innovative baby showering aid and Peter and Victoria Seagrim with a baby milk bottle safety accessory. Both of their inventions are in the very early visionary stages but were considered by the judges to be viable products. In the Innovation Award category the finalists are Lesley Cartwright-Taylor, with a safety adjustable handrail and Matt Dyson, Matt Sparrow and Nick Webb with a soothing pushchair or crib accessory. Both of these entries are further forward in their production stages and hope to launch to market soon.
Visitors to Harrogate International Nursery Fair are invited to visit these finalists on the BPA’s Concept & Innovation stand in Hall H where they can see and discuss the entries and give feedback about the designs. The winners will be presented with their awards by a Sarah Ludlam, intellectual property and commercial lawyer for 3volution during the Awards Dinner which takes place on Sunday 20th March 2016 at the Majestic Hotel. The winners will receive prizes each of £750 worth of legal services.
