This site is designed to inform and promote the safe use of baby, nursery and childcare products to consumers and the industry in general.
More about the BPA...The Baby Products Association (BPA) has joined forces with the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) to raise awareness of potential dangers to children inside and outside the home via sponsorship of Child Safety Week from 1st to 7th June 2015.
This annual CAPT flagship community education programme alerts parents and carers to dangerous scenarios such as scalds and burns from hot drinks and hair straighteners, to choking and drowning hazards and road safety.
There are a range of Action Packs with can be downloaded from CAPT’s website offering valuable resources for teachers, parents and carers including activities such as colouring sheets, quizzes and lesson plans.
The key message that the BPA will relay is the importance of correctly choosing and installing child restraints and the dangers of purchasing second hand goods where the history of a product may be uncertain.
Robert Anslow, BPA managing director, explains: “Sponsoring Child Safety Week is an important step for the BPA as not only does it allow us to get important safety messages across, it is an opportunity to raise awareness of the industry’s trade association and its members to the consumer sector.”
As part of its own ongoing consumer safety awareness campaign, the BPA has recently updated its e-leaflets to help and advise parents and carers when buying baby products. These can be downloaded by clicking on the relevant links:
